Statistical Telegram. Monthly statistics of registered unemployment in the European Community.

Abstract

At the end of March l978, 6,0 million unemployed persona were registered at public employment offices in the Community. This represents 5.7% of the civilian working population, compared with 5·9% at the end of February 1978, The rate of decrease in unemployment since January of this year has been slower than that observed in 1977 (-4.2% between January and March 1978 compared with -6.2 %between January and March 1977). Moreover, the data corrected for seasonality indicate a alight increase in unemployment in the Community.
