The CO2MPARE model supports national and regional authorities in making balanced decisions for their investment portfolio under their regional devel-opment programmes, in particular under their Operational Programmes of EU Regional Policy. The EU’s climate objectives require that investments across the EU are channeled towards low-carbon development. The carbon impacts of investments should therefore be seriously considered in the decision mak-ing process of regional development programmes.
