"Towards a Euro-Mediterranean Higher Education and Research Area"

Abstract

This paper will try to examine ways and means of developing co-operation in the field of scientific research, upgrading the quality of higher education and vocational training in Mediterranean Partner Countries. It will also deal with the standards of University Education, focusing on and analysing some initiatives that took place in the field of Euro-Med cooperation, such as the "Euro-Mediterranean space of Higher Education and Research", the "Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for the Dialogue Between Cultures", the Euro-Mediterranean University" in Slovenia and its Center for Euro-Mediterranean Studies (Center EMUNI), and finally the newly established "Academic Consortium and Research Centre on the Eastern Mediterranean" (CREMO), which will have its legal residence in Rhodes, Greece.
