Abstract

The Monthly External Trade Bulletin, series Β 'Short­term Trends', aims to provide the most rapid possible information on the short­term development of the Community's foreign trade and the trade between the Member States. The bulletin documents the degree of involvement with partner countries and individual economic zones and records trade in the major groups of goods. Other international sources are also used to document the share of Community trade within the external trade of its major trading partners and of other third countries. Detailed data at the lowest classification level are published quarterly on microfiches and annually in the 'Analytical Tables of Foreign Trade'. The development of foreign trade since 1958 and a comparison with the international trade is documented in the 'Yearbook of External Trade Statistics'. The foreign trade statistics are also available on­line in the Eurostat data bases CRONOS and COMEXT. Information on Eurostat's external trade publications, together with a detailed description of methods used, can be found in the 'External Trade Statistics User's Guide', which has been published in all Community languages.
