dc.description.abstract | In the third quarter of 2005 the seasonally adjusted index of production rose by 0.6 % in the EU-25 on the basis of a comparison with the previous quarter. This confirms the growth in the second quarter of 2005 (0.7 %), with signs of a recovery in the EU-25’s industrial economy. Within the euro-zone a similar pattern was observed, as industrial output rose by 0.8 % in the third quarter of 2005, following a 0.7 % increase in the previous quarter. On the basis of a comparison with the same quarter of a year before, the EU-25’s working day adjusted index of production for total industry (excluding construction) rose by 1.2 % in the third quarter of 2005 (1.3 % in the euro-zone), which was higher than in the two previous quarters. |
