Abstract

At the end of June 1982 there were 10.3 million persons registered as unemployed at public employment offices in the Community of Nine. Registered unemployed as a pro-portion of the civilian working population went up from 9.2% at the end of May to 9.3% at the end of June 1982. Both in terms of absolute and of seasonally adjusted values, comparisons with the precedirig month show a further rise in total unemployment in the Community on Nine. The absolute figure went up by 1.6% and the seasonally adjusted figure by 1.2%. The seasonally adjusted unemployment total continued to rise in all Member States, the most striking increase being in the case of the Netherlands.
