Grand Duchy of Luxembourg Progress report pursuant to Article 22 of Directive 2009/28/EC on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources

Abstract

The development of energy from renewable sources in2009 and 2010 in Luxembourg shown above is mainlybased on the statistical data derived from the SHARES model (Table 1), which have also been communicatedto Eurostat.In the NREAP (Table 3), Luxembourg indicated an overall share of renewables of 2.2% for 2010. The excessof 0.75 % comparedthe NREAP was caused in particular bythe high share of renewables in heating and cooling (estimated to amount to 2.1%in the NREAP). Amajor industrial enterpriseusingbiomass to cover part of its heating requirements mainly accounts for this development.
