Financial situation of the European Communities on 31 March 1980

Abstract

Article 29 of the Financial Regulation of 21 December 1977 applicable to the General Budget reads as follows: "The Commission shall, four times a year, present the EUropean Parliament and the Council with a Report on the Communities' Financial Situation, including both revenue and expenditure. There shall be attached to these reports a comprehensive statement on the sums maintained from previous financial years, as well as on aqy changes brought about as a result of the adoption of Supplementary or Amending Budgets." This Report shows the financial situation of the European Communities on 31 March 1980 and has been drawn up on the basis of the appropriations allocated under the one-twelfth rule ("provisional twelfths")• As the accounts for 1979 were not final~ closed on 31 March 1980, the figures available at the end of the period under consideration do not show the appropriations carried over automatically to 1980.
