Industrial Short-Term Trends: The Index of Industrial Production in the European Community.

Abstract

This Supplement 1985 gives retrospectives series. It gives an up-date and a complement to the supplement 1-1978 where the methodological note of the index of industrial production 1970=100 was presented and to the supplements 1981 and 1983, where the retrospective series — with the reference year 1975 — for this index were given. At the beginning of 1985, a new base 1980=100 was introduced. The other indicators scheduled in Directive 72/211/EEC of 30 May 1972 on the collection in the Member States of 'Coordinated statistics on the business cycle in industry and the small craft industries' published in supplement 12-1980 for 'the indices of industrial turnover and new orders', and in supplement 1982 for the 'indices of the number of employees and manual workers, wages and salaries and volume of work done (hours worked)'.
