dc.description.abstract | The European Commission launched a new survey of continuing vocational training following on from the first survey, conducted in 1994, of the then twelve Member States of the European Union. The second survey (CVTS2) was conducted in· 2000/2001 in all the Member States, Norway and nine candidate countries (Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland -only Pomorskie region, Romania and Slovenia). This second survey of continuing vocational training was two-thirds financed by the European Commission. A total of some 35000 enterprises in EU countries and Norway and 26000 enterprises in candidate countries took part in the survey and provided comparable statistical data on continuing training at work, the supply of and demand for vocational know-how and skills, the need for continuing training on the one hand and the forms, contents and scope of continuing training on the other, own training resources and the use of external training providers, and the costs of continuing training |
