dc.description.abstract | Eurostat estimates that the seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate in the European Union for the month' of October 1996 was 10.9%, representing the same level as in the six previous: months and an increase of 0.1% by comparison with October 1995. 1 In recent months, the seasona ly-adjusted unemployment rate has fallen in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Sweden, Finland and Denmark while rising in Germany, France and Spain. I j The Spanish Labour Force Survey results for the third quarter of 1996 have been included in this month's data,j causing a considerable upward revision of the Spanish figures by comparison with our earlier publications. |
