dc.description.abstract | Eurostat estimates that the s~Clsonally-adjusted unemployment rate in the European Union (fifteen Member States) for the months of June and July 1995 was 10.7%. The decreas~ pf 0.2% by comparison with the Spring figures can be attributed largely to falling unemployment in Spain, Italy and France. A noticeable development in the) ~U generally is that the unemployment rate for young persons has fallen to n! the 20% level. The downward trend for this group can be observed in all Me er States with the following exceptions: -in Portugal and Luxembourg th . pward tendency of recent years has continued - in Germany and the United KinfJdom the figures are lower than in July 1994 but the trend over the last few month~ has been upward. |
