dc.description.abstract | After falling to 15.5 million at the end of June 1986, the number of persons registered as unemployed in the Community of the Twelve at the end of July 1986 rose once more to 15.7 million. The increase of 175.000 (+ 1.1 %) in the number of persons registered as unemployed occurred to a very large extent among young persons aged under 25. The effects of the end of the school year were particularly noticeable in Belgium (+ 28 %), France (+ 6.4 %), the Netherlands (+ 7.9 %) and the FR of Germany (+ 5.0 %). Two-thirds of the young persons coming onto the register since the end of·June were .. . ~ . women. The seasonally adjusted figures for female unemployment as a whole showed a further slight rise, while the slight fall in male unemployment recorded in the previous months continued. |
