Following a seasonal low in. the previous month, the number of persons re-gist~red as unemployed at public employment offices in the Community of the Nine at the end of July 1984 rose by 200 000 to reach 12.3 million, giving an unemployment rate of 10,9% of the civilian working population, as opposed to 10,7% in June.
