dc.description.abstract	Between the end of April 1978 and the end of May 1978 the number of unemployed registered at public employment offices in the Community fell from 5.8 million to 5.6 million. Correspondingly, the unemploy~ ent expressed as a percentage of the civilian working population declined from 5·5 % at the end of April to 5·3 % at the end of May. The fall in the number of the registered unemployed has been most marked in the Federal Republic of Germany (-8.7 %), in Luxembourg(-8.2 %), in Denmark (-5,8 %) and in the Netherlands (-5·4 %).
