dc.description.abstract	Though the total of registered unemployed in the Community as a ~o~hole at the end of January 1978 \'las 6.2 million, the trend shown by the seasonally corrected figures continues slightly dmmward. The increase of 3% in the absolute figure of persons registered compared with December, 1977 is mainly seasonal. The pattern is similar to that noted at the same period last year.
