dc.description.abstract	In May 1917 the percentage of the civilian vrorking population of the whole Community registered as unemployed was 5 %. This is lower than in April 1977 (5.2 %), but higher than in May of last year (4.6 %). The total number of registered unemployed -5.2 millions in the whole Commu~1ity -has decreased by more than 200,000 persons in relation to April 1977• This drop in the absolute numbers appears to be a seasonal change, as the seasonally adjusted figures do not show a decrease at Community level.
