Abstract

EUROSTAT's annual publication "DEMOGRAPHIC STATISTICS" contains detailed figures of the population by sex and age groups, births, deaths, migration, marriages, divorces, expectation of life, etc. up to 1985, for the individual Member States as well as for the Cormqunity as a whole. 1986 data for the principal· demographic series ~re available for most countries and are given in the table hereafter. eountries have indicated that, for the most part, the 1986 data are provisional. In the case of Spain, the figures of births, marriages and deaths relate to the year 1984, no later data being available.
