The market for solid fuels in the Community in 2003 and 2004.

Abstract

Article 7 of Council Regulation EC N° 405/2003 of 27th February 2003 concerning the Community monitoring of imports of hard coal from Third Countries1 provides that, “on the basis of the information collected in application of this Regulation, the Commission shall publish in an appropriate form, (...) during the first quarter of each year, a report on the market in solid fuels in the Community concerning the rpeceding year together wit a market outlook for the current year”. This annual report has been prepared to fulfil this requirement. There has been a very considerable delay in the publication of this report due to the transitional nature of the year 2004 and the necessary work to obtain and check the information for the annexed tables for the 25 Member States.
