dc.description.abstract | The unemployment rate in the European Union (excluding the French overseas departments) dropped from 11.2% in April 1994 to 10.7% in April 1995. The number of unemployed during the twelve months period, dropped by more than 0.8 million, with the labour marked situation showing improvement in 70% of the Union's regions. Notable decreases in the unemployment rates (2-6 percentage points) were recorded in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Thueringen, Halle and Dessau of Germany, in Dytiki Ellada and Voreio Aigaio of Greece, and in the Spanish regions of Canarias, Baleares, Cantabria, Murcia, Galicia, Comunidad Valenciana, as well as in all of the Noreste regions. |
