Translated | The rate of unemployment for the Community as a whole (excluding the five new German Lander and the four French Overseas Departments) rose from 8.5 % in April 1991 to 9.4 % in April 1992, largely because of increasing unemployment in Spain, Greece, Ireland and the United Kingdom. Unemployment rose in most regions of the Community over this period: the most striking rises were recorded in certain regions of Spain and Southern England: + 3-4 percentage points in Galicia and Rioja (Spain) and Greater London (UK). |
