| dc.description.abstract | Unemployment rate drops In the Community as a whole, but Increases In one quarter of the regions Behind the drop in unemployment in the Community as a whole (from 10.1 % in April 1988 to 9.3% in April 1989) lie very uneven regional trends. In most regions the situation has improved. This is the case in all regions of Belgium, the FR of Germany, Portugal and the United Kingdom and in almost all the Spanish regions. On the other hand, in approximately one quarter of the regions of the Community the unemployment rate was higher than in the previous year: in Denmark, most of the French regions, parts of Italy and the Netherlands and in a few regions in Spain. |
