dc.description.abstract	The European Commission has approved funding for 76 new environment projects in 22 countries under the LIFE+ Nature & Biodiversity programme 2011. These projects will demonstrate new methods and tech-niques for dealing with a wide range of problems affecting species, habitats and biodiversity in Europe. The projects are led by ‘beneficiaries’, or project promoters, based in Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the UK. They represent a total investment of €241.8 million, of which the EU will provide some €136 million.
