dc.description.abstract	The European Commission has approved funding for 13 new environmental awareness projects in nine countries under the LIFE+ Information & Communication programme 2011. These projects will either raise the profile of environmental issues, or provide training and awareness-raising for the prevention of forest fires. The projects are led by ‘beneficiaries’, or project promoters, based in Austria, Cyprus, Denmark, France, Italy, Poland, Romania, Spain and the United Kingdom. They represent a total investment of €16.2 million, of which the EU will provide some €7.2 million.
