dc.description.abstract	The European Commission has approved funding for 15 new environmental innovation projects in eight countries under the LIFE+ Information & Communications programme in 2010. These projects will either raise the profile of environmental issues, or provide training and awareness-raising for the prevention of forest fires. The projects are led by ‘beneficiaries’, or project promoters, based in Estonia, Finland, Italy, Malta, Poland, Slovenia, Spain and the United Kingdom. They represent a total investment of €20.4 million, of which the EU will provide some €10.1 million.
