dc.descriptionhttp://aei.pitt.edu/id/eprint/85451
This article presents harmonized figures on Labour Costs for 13 of the 15 Member States (EU 13) which participated in the Community Labour Costs Survey for the year 2000 together with 11 of the 13 Candidate Countries (CC11). The participating countries are given in the glossary at the end of the Methodological Notes. The term "labour costs" refers to the expenditure borne by employers in order to employ workers. Labour costs account for some two-thirds of production costs for goods and services and exercise a considerable influence on the choices of political, economic and social decision-makers. The 13 Member States for which labour costs data are presented had a combined population in 2000 of 309 million, and a working population (aged 15-64) of about 203 million.
